Western Integrated Electrical builds, installs, maintains, and commissions electrical systems throughout locations across the lower mainland. We complete a variety of electrical installations which can be located at YVR, hospitals, industrial facilities, commercial buildings and in many local municipal facilities. We partner with our clients across the lower mainland to solve their most pressing challenges including design build projects and custom solutions. Distribution and lighting upgrades. Conveyor and machine installations.
Summary:
The Dispatcher / Shop Coordinator is a multi-functional role responsible for supporting service and service project scheduling, shipping and receiving, tool and equipment management, and fleet coordination for Western Integrated. This position serves as a central point of coordination between field crews, shop operations, service teams, and logistics partners, ensuring smooth daily operations, safety compliance, and efficient use of company resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Dispatch & Scheduling Support
- Support scheduling of service calls and project work for WIE Service and project teams.
- Assist with job setup, including creation and processing of purchase orders for service work.
- Participate in phone rotation, providing reception, procurement support, and internal coordination.
- Communicate effectively with clients, field crews, supervisors, and management to support daily operational needs.
Shipping, Receiving & Logistics
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities for Western Integrated Electrical and Western Integrated Systems.
- Verify incoming deliveries against packing slips, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Prepare and organize outgoing shipments of tools, materials, and equipment for projects and service work.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records and documentation.
- Partner with internal teams and logistics providers to ensure timely and accurate material flow.
Tools & Equipment QA/QC
- Perform QA/QC inspections of tools and equipment, including PPE, thermography equipment, and specialty tools.
- Track tool condition and ensure defective or unsafe tools are removed from service and sent for repair or replacement.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, and maintenance for tools and equipment.
Supporting Warehouse & Shop Coordination
- Support daily shop and warehouse operations, including organization, labeling, and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure the shop and yard areas are clean, organized, and safe, coordinating cleanup efforts with WIS, drivers, and shop staff.
- Support tool readiness and availability for service vans, trucks, and project crews.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Support workplace safety by ensuring tools, vehicles, and shop areas meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Assist with documentation related to inspections, hazards, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Health & Safety personnel to maintain compliance with WorkSafeBC and internal safety policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a dispatcher/ shop coordinator, shipping/receiving, fleet, or facility management roles preferred.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to coordinate with the shop and service teams.

Working Conditions:
- This is a site-based role located in Burnaby, BC
- Hours of operation 7:00 am to 4:00 pm (PST)
- A valid driver’s license, clean driving abstract
Compensation:
$65,000 -$75,000 / annually CAD
